About

Dr Peter Kenway

I am an economist and statistician who has been investigating Germany’s economy and politics, as well as how it once managed industrial and social change, since 2021.

This follows 25 years spent as co-founder and director of the independent, London-based think tank New Policy Institute, whose wide-ranging, largely UK-focussed, interests – above all, poverty and social exclusion – can be examined here.

Just as everything that seems new is also a return, so my new-found interest in Germany is a return to my academic research, dating from the first half of the 1990s, into matters to do with the economic and social transformation in central and eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
